In my research, I focus on emotion and self-regulation in the context of health and illness, in particular using ambulatory assessment methods to investigate psychological and physiological processes in everyday life. Another area of research concerns psychosocial aspects in chronic somatic diseases, especially diabetes mellitus. From 2019 to 2023, I was spokesperson for the Health Psychology section of the German Psychological Society<\/a>, and from 2018 to 2023 chairperson of the German Society of Behavioral Medicine<\/a>. I am Past President of the international Society for Ambulatory Assessment<\/a> and spokesperson for the Geriatrics section of the German Diabetes Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
