Psychology Module M &#8211; Health Psychology (Advanced) (As of: 04\/2012) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">The subject of the 20-minute examination is the presentation and discussion of two self-selected studies on relevant fields of application in Health Psychology.<br>One of the following topics must be chosen for this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bronchial asthma and COPD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Atopic dermatitis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inflammatory bowel<br>disease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic pain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diabetes mellitus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cardiovascular diseases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vaccination behavior<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smoking cessation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexual dysfunctions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stress and stress management<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\"><strong>Study selection<br><\/strong>Two published papers, self-selected in consultation with the examiner, are the subject of the examination. These papers must be made available to the examiner via email no later than 3 weeks before the examination date. Empirical papers (e.g., meta-analyses, epidemiological studies, prevention\/intervention studies) are recommended. Please also note the following when selecting the studies:<br>\u2212 Only English-language papers published in scientific journals are permitted.<br>\u2212 Preferably, more recent papers should be selected (from publication year 2000 onwards).<br>\u2212 www.pubmed.com is recommended as a suitable portal for literature research.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\"><strong>Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">At the beginning of the examination, you will present the selected studies, followed by a discussion of them.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">Central aspects here are:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">(1) relevance to the topic (in theoretical and practical terms)  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">(2) gain in knowledge (&#8220;what does this study add to what is known&#8221;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">(3) critical appraisal of the methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\">Please send studies for the examination in Module M. These papers must be made available to the examiner via email no later than 3 weeks before the examination date. Empirical papers (e.g., meta-analyses, epidemiological studies, prevention\/intervention studies) are recommended.
